Nick Cannon explained In a Long Facebook post Monday Morning that he’s decided to part ways with the NBC show America’s Got Talent.
This dramatic turn of events comes after after NBC executives reportedly “publicly reprimanded and ridiculed” him over a joke he made during one of his standup comedy specials.
Cannon wrote in a Facebook post on Monday that,“After days of deliberating over some extremely disappointing news that I was being threatened with termination by Executives because of a comedy special that was only intended to bring communities closer together, I was to be punished for a joke,”
Cannon went on many tv shows and publications to voice his concerns.Some of these include Howard Stern.On the show he explained that NBC were selectively picking out what was acceptable free speech and what was not.He proved this by stating the fact that NBC allowed him to make jokes about the network costing him his “black card” while filming his upcoming Showtime comedy special, Stand Up, Don’t Shoot.

However he then said in this post that he was reprimanded and punished whenever he expressed any views that NBC did not agree with.Some of these controversial views that NBC may not gave been to fond of include Cannon’s stance on Planned Parenthood,were he accused it of “being designed to exterminate black people”
He also said during his time at NBC he was being warned that if he didn’t stop expressing his views then “The System” would come after him.He finished this post by saying that he “will not be silenced, controlled or treated like a piece of property,”
Cannon, who has hosted the reality singing competition for the past eight seasons will now step down.
